The Iberian Peninsula has always been an important place due to its climate and geographical position, making it a place with a multitude of inhabitants from different places, bringing to the area their own culture and traditions. What are you waiting for to discover each of them?
Day 1 Barcelona: Arrival at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2 Barcelona - Madrid: Breakfast at the hotel and departure to Madrid. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 3 Madrid: Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, panoramic visit of the city; we will contemplate its medieval origins as the Arab fortress, going through the Barrio de la Morería, characterized by the antiquity of its buildings and the flavors of its inns; We will visit the courtly Madrid of the Habsburgs with Philip II and its Renaissance and Baroque buildings in the Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor and Plaza de la Villa; we will see the Madrid of the Bourbons and the urban layout of Charles III, the Royal Palace, the Fountain of Cibeles, Neptune and the Puerta de Alcalá; we will admire the works of the 19th century as the elegant Plaza del Oriente and the Plaza de la Villa. XIX as the elegant Plaza de Oriente and the Prado Museum; we will know the contemporary Madrid with avenues such as Gran Vía, Paseo de la Castellana, Barrio de Salamanca, Plaza de Castilla, Parque del Oeste, Ciudad Universitaria, commercial and financial areas of Modern Madrid, the emblematic Plaza de Toros de las Ventas and the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. Day 4 Madrid - Oporto: Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Salamanca. Free time in this World Heritage university city of great architectural and artistic wealth and departure to the Portuguese border to reach Oporto. Lodging.
Day 5 Oporto: Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning panoramic visit of this city declared World Heritage Site where we will contemplate the Cathedral, the Stock Exchange building, Church of Santa Clara. Free afternoon. Possibility of an optional visit to some famous wineries with tasting of its world famous "Port wine". Overnight.
Day 6 Porto - Coimbra - Fatima: Breakfast. Departure to Coimbra, home of one of the oldest universities in Europe and cradle of Fado. Free time. Continuation to Fatima. Center of the Christian Faith and World Pilgrimage Sanctuary with its impressive Basilica and the Cova da Iria, where the Virgin Mary appeared. The Chapel of Apparitions, heart of the sanctuary, with the tombs of the three little shepherds, Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta. In the evening possibility to attend the candlelight procession. Overnight stay.
Day 7 Fatima - Batalha - Nazaré - Lisbon: After breakfast at the hotel, departure to the Monastery of Batalha, a work of art of the Gothic and Manueline styles considered a World Heritage Site. Continuation to Nazaré, the most picturesque and colorful fishing village in Portugal. If time permits, we will reach the site to enjoy a panoramic view of the village and its beaches. We will continue our trip to Alcobaça. Visit its 12th century church with the tombs of Don Pedro and Inês de Castro. Continuation to Lisbon. Overnight stay. In the evening, optionally, we recommend attending a Fado show (typical Portuguese folklore).
Day 8 Lisbon: Breakfast at the hotel. Morning visit of the city, formerly known as Olissipo, tour through its main squares and avenues, Belem Tower, Jeronimos Monastery, Monument to the Discoverers, Marques de Pombal Square, Avenida da Liberdade. Afternoon at leisure to discover the nostalgic corners of the Alfama district, the old town clustered around the castle with its old buildings in narrow and twisted "ruins" full of color and hosting the genuine "taverns" where Fado sounds like a lost past. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 9: Lisbon - Cáceres -Córdoba: Breakfast at the hotel. Departure at 07:30 hrs. to Cáceres, a World Heritage City, architectural mixture of Romanesque, Islamic, Gothic and Italian Renaissance. We will stroll through its old town, Medieval Quarter and its Plaza Mayor. Continue south to Cordoba, once the capital of the Caliphate. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 10 Córdoba - Seville: Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the impressive Mosque/Cathedral which will relax our minds and spirits to stroll through the narrow streets of the Jewish Quarter. Then, after a short drive of about two hours, arrival in Seville. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 11 Seville: Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning monumental and panoramic visit of the city - the Cathedral from the outside, the second largest in the Catholic world after St. Peter's in Rome. Typical Barrio de Santa Cruz, natural setting of "Carmen" as well as the place where the myth of "Don Juan" was developed. Maria Luisa Park and Plaza de España. - Free afternoon to discover different perspectives and specific flavors of this active city full of light. Overnight at the hotel. Optional visit of a Flamenco show.
Day 12 Seville - Granada: Breakfast at the hotel and departure eastbound through the Caliphate route towards the heart of Andalusia observing an endless number of olive trees. Arrival in Granada and its incredible and amazing monumental setting, the last bastion of the Nasrid Kingdom of Granada until 1492. Visit the world famous Alhambra and the Generalife Gardens, fountains, gardens, courtyards that with their sights and sounds have inspired authors such as W. Irving in his "Tales of the Alhambra". Overnight at the hotel. In the evening, optional Flamenco Zambra show in the Sacromonte district.
Day 13: Granada - Valencia: After breakfast at the hotel, departure to the Mediterranean coast. Via Murcia, capital of the fertile garden of the Segura River, we continue north to Alicante, the second largest city in the region of Valencia, arriving in Valencia, one of the main capitals of the Mediterranean coast with its modern Architectural Complex of Arts and Sciences composed of six buildings: Hemisfèric, Umbracle, Science Museum, Oceanogràfic, Palau de les Arts and Agora. Valencia is also the origin of the internationally known "Paella". Overnight at the hotel.
Day 14 Valencia - Barcelona: Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning visit of this luminous city contemplating its old town and then go through the old Turia riverbed and visit the most "avant-garde" complex, the City of Arts and Sciences, to admire its emblematic buildings. In the afternoon departure north along the Mediterranean coast towards Catalonia via Tarragona, the Roman Tarraco. Arrival in Barcelona, main city of the Mediterranean and birthplace of the famous architect Antonio Gaudi, symbol of Catalan Modernism. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 15 Barcelona: Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning visit of the city known worldwide for its 1992 Olympic Games, tour the main avenues with its impressive modernist buildings of Gaudi and contemplate its most emblematic works: Casa Mila, La Pedrera and Casa Batllo, declared World Heritage buildings. Montjuic Park with spectacular views of both the city and the harbor, Olympic Ring, Columbus Monument and the Olympic Port. The afternoon is at your disposal to continue discovering the attractions offered by the city as well as its varied and exquisite cuisine. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 16 Barcelona: Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport. Hola España!
