Spain and Italy, two of the countries with more history of our planet, a history very present today with a multitude of monuments, traditions and cultures that coexist in its beautiful streets and cities.
Day 1: City of origin - Madrid Arrival in Madrid and transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure for a first contact with this beautiful city, and enjoy its people, or take a break in some of the many terraces that dot the city, enjoying the lively streets of Madrid. As long as the arrival time of your flight allows it, you will meet your guide at the hotel reception at the end of the afternoon. If you wish, in the evening you can take an optional evening stroll with our guide through the most emblematic places of the city, having the opportunity to get into the lively nightlife of Madrid while savoring some typical tapas.
Day 2: Madrid Panoramic tour with local guide of the most characteristic buildings and monuments of the capital of the Kingdom of Spain: the Plazas de la Cibeles, de España and de Neptuno, the Puerta del Sol, the Gran Vía, Calle Mayor, outside the Plaza de Toros de las Ventas, Alcalá street, Paseo del Prado, Paseo de la Castellana, etc.. Rest of the day at leisure to continue exploring the capital of Spain. Also, if you wish, you can make a very complete optional visit to Toledo, in which we will take a bus tour around the perimeter of the city, from which we will have a splendid overview of its artistic heritage and stroll through its most emblematic streets and squares, including the entrance to the interior of the Cathedral, considered one of the masterpieces of Spanish art. As a finishing touch to this day, in the evening you can optionally attend a flamenco show where we will learn about the musical roots of Spanish art.
Day 3: Madrid - Zaragoza - Barcelona Departure to Zaragoza, free time to visit the Basilica del Pilar, the largest baroque temple in Spain and important center of Marian pilgrimage and where highlights inside the frescoes of great artists such as Goya and Francisco Bayeu, among others. Continuation to Barcelona. Panoramic tour with local guide, in which we will visit some of its most famous squares such as Catalonia, the commercial center of the city, its typical streets like Las Ramblas, the port, the exterior of the Sagrada Familia, unfinished atoning work and one of the symbols of modernist art so represented in Barcelona, etc..
Day 4: Barcelona - Nice Departure to France, where we will cross the regions of Languedoc and Provence, towards the Côte d'Azur, current rendezvous of the European high society. Arrival in Nice, its capital. Free time or if you wish you can make an optional excursion to the Principality of Monaco where we will visit Monte Carlo, with free time to visit the Casino or have a drink at the Café de Paris, we will also visit Monaco, strolling through its narrow streets to the square of the Grimaldi family palace with splendid views over the bay from the viewpoint.
Day 5: Nice - Pisa - Rome Departure to Pisa, the birthplace of Galileo, where we will have free time to admire the wonderful Piazza dei Miracoli, with its Cathedral, the Baptistery and the famous Leaning Tower. Continuation to Rome. Free time or if you wish you can take an optional tour of Rome by night, where we will visit some of the most characteristic places of this ancient city, knowing its most emblematic squares and its most representative fountains, such as the Piazza Navona with the Fountain of the Four Rivers, the Trevi Fountain, etc..
Day 6: Rome We start the day with the opportunity to take an optional excursion with a guided tour of the Vatican Museums and St. Peter's Basilica, surely one of the reasons for your trip because you can enjoy two of the great works of universal art: the Sistine Chapel and the Basilica where the famous Pieta by Michelangelo is located, in addition to visiting one of the most important museums in the world. Afterwards, panoramic tour with local guide to learn about the history and the main buildings of the Eternal City. Passing by: the Tiber River, Castel Sant'Angelo, Tiber Island, Circus Maximus with the view of the Palatine Hill, Cestia Pyramid, Aurelian Wall, Baths of Caracalla, Celio Hill, St. John Lateran, Santa Maria Maggiore, Republic Square etc.. Also, if you wish, you can take an optional excursion: Imperial Rome, in which accompanied by our local guide you will travel back in time to "Ancient Rome", knowing some of the most representative places of that era.
Day 7: Rome Free day. If you wish, you will also have the possibility to take an optional excursion with lunch included, in which we will head to the region of Campania, visiting Pompeii and the magnificent archaeological remains of this Roman city stopped in time by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD; followed by a brief panoramic tour of Naples, capital of the region, and whose historic center has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Finally, we will visit the island of Capri, ancient refuge of emperors and meeting point of high society, with Marina Grande, the faraglioni, the grottoes, etc. (Lunch included in Capri).
Day 8: Rome - Florence Departure to Florence, capital of Tuscany and Cradle of the Renaissance. Panoramic tour with local guide: the Duomo of Santa Maria del Fiore, with its wonderful dome by Brunelleschi, which served as a model for Michelangelo to make St. Peter's in the Vatican, the bell tower, built by Giotto, the Baptistery with the famous Gates of Paradise by Ghiberti, the Ponte Vecchio, Piazza della Signoria with the Palazzo Vecchio and its statues and fountains of great artistic wealth etc.. Free time to visit the famous Florentine markets.
Day 9: Florence - Venice Departure for Venice, crossing the Apennine mountain range. On arrival we will enter the city for a panoramic boat ride, where we will see the church of Santa Maria della Salute, the island of San Giorgio, the Customs House, etc.. We will continue walking along the majestic exterior of the Doge's Palace and the Piazzeta, access to Piazza San Marco and visit a Murano glass factory. Free time that you can take advantage of to get lost in its canals, streets and secret squares, where you will find endless details that make Venice a unique city in the world. If you wish, we will take an optional excursion in which, in addition to a romantic gondola ride through the Venetian canals, and a walk with our local guide through the so-called "Hidden Venice", we will get to know the most picturesque corners of this city. We will then head back to our hotel in the Veneto Region.
Day 10: Venice - Milan During the morning we will drive through the so-called Continental Italy, parallel to the mountain range of the Alps until we reach Milan. Free time to discover the beauty of the capital of Lombardy, where in addition to visiting the most important places of the city, such as the Castello Sforzesco, the Vittorio Emmanuele Gallery or the Duomo, a masterpiece of universal art; take the opportunity to discover the grandeur of its elegant buildings, walking the streets of fashion or savoring a delicious cappuccino in one of its most traditional cafes of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century, as the Zucca, the Taveggia or the Cova.
Day 11: Milan - City of Destination Free time until transfer to the airport for your flight to your destination city. Hola España!
